The quieter, more residential north end towards Wong Amat — a calm base away from the centre of Pattaya.
Naklua is the older, quieter district at the north end of Pattaya, running up towards Wong Amat Beach. It has a more local, residential character than the tourist centre, and a distinctly calmer pace.
There are fewer rental shops in Naklua than in the centre, but the quieter streets make it a comfortable place to ride, and it is well placed for reaching the north of the city and the roads beyond.
Naklua’s quieter roads are a gentler introduction to riding than Central Pattaya. The main route south takes you into the busy centre, so plan the timing of that stretch.
