A valid driving document does not by itself make someone a permitted driver under a rental agreement or protection product. Before anyone else uses the keys, identify the contracting operator, the permitted-driver clause and the document that decides eligibility and any incident response.

Do not let a second person drive until the operator confirms in writing that the person is permitted under the exact agreement and any linked protection document. Complete the stated fee and document process, then keep the signed page or amendment showing the permitted name and effective time.

Confirm the selected agreement’s number, fee and eligibility before relying on either example. The quote should state:

• Whether the amount is one-time, per day or included
• Which taxes or booking-channel charges are included
• Whether a driver profile or vehicle group changes eligibility

Get the fee and all permitted-driver names on the paper you sign. A verbal permission is not a durable record of the applicable conditions.

Age and licence rules for second drivers
