Grom and MSX125 naming

The route uses the search name “Honda Grom,” but the exact Pattaya rental evidence uses Honda's MSX125 name. A Thai Honda service notice maps GROM to MSX125 model codes, supporting the relationship between the names. That does not make every generation mechanically identical.

Andrei Motorbike Rent's Honda MSX125 page identified a 2016 unit, described it as a four-speed manual and displayed “in stock” when checked on 23 August 2026. The page showed:

The same page displayed a 2,000–5,000 THB cash-deposit range. These are the operator's dated figures for its named 2016 unit, not a citywide Honda Grom rental rate or proof that other Pattaya shops stock the model.

Why current Grom specifications do not describe that rental

Honda's official 2026 Grom ABS specification lists a 124cc engine and five-speed manual transmission. The Pattaya operator explicitly describes its older 2016 MSX125 as four-speed. The current manufacturer page therefore serves only as a current nameplate reference and must not be used to claim the rental unit has the same gearbox, equipment, dimensions or safety systems.

What the public listing leaves unknown

Live availability for specific dates, the exact registration, service history, tyre age, previous damage, allowed passenger or load, helmet provision, kilometre limit, roadside support, theft liability and full insurance position were not established by the checked public page. “In stock” is a dated web status, not a reservation.

Manual-transmission and document checks

The exact operator listing says four-speed manual. Confirm that the supplied unit matches that description and do not accept it unless you can operate its controls safely. The strongest identifying combination in the local source is “2016 Honda MSX125” plus “4-speed manual.” Preserve all three facts in the booking record. A message offering a current Grom, a five-speed unit or an MSX without a year is new evidence that must be checked separately; it is not the verified rental described here. Thai Honda's GROM-to-MSX model-code notice supports the naming relationship but does not erase generation differences.

At handover, ask the operator to identify the clutch, gear selector, neutral indicator and engine-stop control using the appropriate manual and a safe demonstration. Match the registration and agreement to the actual unit. If the model or transmission differs, resolve the new specification, price and condition record before accepting it.

Do not fill the two-day pricing gap

The operator publishes 400 THB for one day, then per-day figures for 3+ and 7+ days. Its public labels do not explicitly state a two-day total. Ask for one if needed; neither 800 THB nor a discounted number is verified by the page. Likewise, the one-month figure is a stated total, while longer commitments have separate per-month figures that should not be applied to a single month.

This exact-label approach matters because a small manual motorcycle may be marketed under either Grom or MSX language. A rate comparison is meaningful only when the operator, generation, duration and supplied unit are all identified.
