Size and character

Both are larger than a basic Click or Scoopy. The NMAX is a maxi-scooter layout — longer wheelbase, wider seat, more upright riding position, bigger under-seat storage. It is the bike Pattaya shops most often suggest when a couple wants something larger than a 125cc.

The Aerox is a sport-scooter layout: sharper styling, a more forward-leaning position, slightly less luggage space under the seat. At walking pace in Pattaya traffic both feel heavier than a basic bike; at road speed on Sukhumvit or the hill roads to Pratumnak, both feel planted. Neither requires gear changes — both are twist-and-go automatics.

Two-up riding

If you will regularly carry a passenger, the NMAX is usually the better rental pick. The seat is longer, the pillion position is more upright, and the under-seat space fits two helmets more easily on many models. Couples doing day trips to Koh Larn ferry piers, Rayong or the eastern coast often prefer it for comfort, not speed.

The Aerox carries two people fine for shorter hops — beach runs, night-market trips, Soi Buakhao to Central Pattaya. Taller or heavier pairs may find the NMAX less cramped. Either way, confirm the shop allows a passenger and that both riders wear helmets; riding two-up without them is both unsafe and a common insurance void.

Comfort and daily use

For a month-long rental or daily commuting, the NMAX’s softer ride and larger wheels suit mixed road surfaces and longer saddle time. The Aerox rewards riders who like a firmer, more responsive feel in city traffic — but a tired rental Aerox with worn suspension is a different machine from a well-kept one, which is why condition at pickup matters.

Availability in Pattaya

Both models appear across Pattaya rental fleets, though the NMAX is stocked more widely than the Aerox at many counters.
