Film the full seat and record existing wear on the handover. A tear may involve only the cover or may extend to foam, base, hinge or latch. Ask the shop to identify the exact component and scope; no citywide repair price or automatic liability rule applies.

What to record at pickup
Record the rider and passenger sections, top and side surfaces, all seams, piping and visible fasteners. With staff present, open and close the seat once to show the hinge, latch and under-seat edge. Note any crack, cut, puncture, loose stitching, exposed foam, staining or latch fault on the written condition record.
Use wide and close views so the location can be identified. Keep the original files and signed handover until the deposit or card hold is fully resolved.
Pickup documentation for the seat
Include the seat in the same dated walk-around as the registration and whole scooter. Do not rely only on a close crop that cannot be tied to that vehicle.

Include the passenger pad
Inspect the whole seat, including any separate passenger pad, its covering and attachments. Do not assume the rider section documents the passenger area.
Remove avoidable hazards
Keep keys, sharp items, luggage hooks and unsecured straps away from the cover.
Keep original media
Retain pickup, incident and return files until the rental and security payment are closed.
How to assess the charge
There is no verified Pattaya-wide seat-repair figure. Ask whether the claim is for a stitched repair, replacement cover, foam, base, hinge, latch or full seat assembly. Request the reason for the selected method, exact model or part, separate parts/labour/tax, the contract clause used and a marked-up damage photograph.
A comparable independent written estimate must cover the same model, component and condition. It can inform a dispute but does not by itself prove who caused the damage or override the agreement.
Report seat damage promptly under the agreed procedure
If material splits during the rental, stop and photograph it in context. Record what happened, notify the shop using the contract’s method and deadline, and keep the response. If the tear exposes a sharp fastener, the seat is unstable or the latch will not secure, do not ride until the shop gives safety or recovery instructions.
At return, compare the same seat area in the pickup, incident and return files. Do not sign a blank or inaccurate damage line. Walk through return day and getting your deposit back.
